About us

True North Trades CIC is currently a completely mobile operation teaching heritage courses in our local communities. We have a passion for heritage crafts and a drive to share that passion with as many people in our community as we can.

Our goal is to introduce people from a range of backgrounds to the world of hand made. Our passion is inspiring others to take up crafts and hobbies that would usually be unattainable.

We are operating as a mobile entity, popping up at venues all over the North East, but are currently in the process of finding a place to call home. Once we have secured our venue we will begin our next exciting stage, creating a Community Workshop.

Lovely (but insanely cold) job for @dilandthebear repairing the sash window and twin doors for their Cafe. This stunning Library just finished for the nicest clients. Lovely room transformation for the fab guys @bearburners Just finished this 💥 Huge 💥 unit for a fab client. It had to be built modular just to get it through the house. Dado installed at the same time. Client has a great vision for their new home. Our fabulous Blacksmith Darren working his magic with a group @southcauseyinn Lovely morning crafting these beautiful copper candle holders @from_loft_to_loved this morning. Our next copper workshop will be @southcauseyinn on the 21st of March Nice little message after our poppy forging class at @southcauseyinn on Saturday. We aim to please and we love what we do! If you fancy a go yourself you can book through the Causey by giving them a call! Fantastic opportunity to hand carve a replacement section of late 1800’s skirt. Before and after of a job we got done for a fantastic client this week. Old pond removed, levelled and paved and old rickety rails removed and replaced with custom made iron work. If you have a dream design you want to see made real give us a shout!

We offer an array of blacksmithing courses to local venues across the North East where our guests can create a unique item to take home to treasure forever. If you have a venue and would like to collaborate please get in touch via our contact links.

Blacksmith Commission Work

We also offer a wide range of blacksmithing services such as bespoke gates, fences and many weird and wonderful items of interest. If you have an idea for something you would like to create why not get in touch!

Cabinet Maker

We have an extremely talented cabinet maker/furniture maker on our team who loves creating bespoke items for people. We offer a range of services in this department from design to finish as well as repairs and refurbishments. If you have an idea for a custom build or your furniture needs some TLC we have you covered.

General Handyman Jobs

We offer a wide range of handyman jobs and have many years experience between our talented team. We offer a friendly, reliable service and always endeavor to make sure our clients are happy with the results. If you have any work that needs doing around the home why not drop us a message.

Refurbishing Professional Spaces

As an extension of the handyman services, we also offer workspace renovations with custom built furniture/designs to suit your working environment.
